International Baccalaureate

Preparing for a Global Society

CGS is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program and Middle Years Program. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.* These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that CGS believes is important for our students. For more information about an IB education, check out these resources from the International Baccalaureate Organization.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.

The International Baccalaureate Program has been shown to enhance student performance and effectively prepare them for success in both collegiate and professional environments. Here are key findings that highlight the effectiveness of the IB Program

Mission

The mission of CGS is to enable students to understand and embrace the differences they will encounter in our increasingly global society. Students graduate with a sense of global awareness, social responsibility, and international-mindedness. Four factors uniquely position CGS students to bridge international and cultural distances:

  • Immersion in the study of global cultures

  • Creating global connections through study tours and home stays

  • Active learning through experiential learning and service learning

  • Studying with the International Baccalaureate MYP (tba) and Diploma Programs (tba)
