CGS News for the Week of November 8

Posted Date: 11/12/2021

Dear CGS Families:

We are officially at the end of Quarter 1! Although September seems like years ago, the year is flying by.  Thank you to everyone who helped with the Halloween picnic, and a particular thank you to CGS parent Diana Toomey-Wilson for coordinating the information for the Summer Fair and Gap Year information! We have plenty of extra brochures, so swing by Ms. Tonia's desk if you need some.

By next Tuesday, all grades in Powerschool will be updated and finalized for all students in all classes for Q1.  So help us get your students in an academic mindset as we move forward with Quarter 2!  Midterms are just two short months away!   As always, let us know how you're doing and if you need anything.

Reminder: No school tomorrow, 11/11/21 in honor of Veteran’s day. All school and district offices will be closed in observance.

The CGS Congratulations! Corner

  • CGS 12th grader Kelsey McClung spent an amazing summer interning with the Naval Submarine Medical Research Academy in Groton. Read more about it here: Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory Hosts High School and College Summer Interns
  • CGS 12th grader Matteo Ruffo won the Heisman High School Scholarship, an award that recognizes individuals with athletic and academic talent. Congratulations, Matteo!
  • Update from Ms. Bilodeau’s Honors Cultural Anthropology class: students have started their research project! They will be reaching out to parents and family to engage in conversations as part of their research to learn about cultural attitudes, perspectives, values, norms, etc. relating to their research question. This could be a great Thanksgiving family conversation opportunity!
